Who operates NomadBite

What you share

Joining the waitlist stores your email, signup date, and consent to early access and launch emails. The app stores your account details, preferences and food restrictions, any optional body measurements, menu scans, favourites, and meals you mark as ordered. A device identifier supports guest scans. Scanning does not require GPS. Restaurant discovery uses location only when you grant permission.

How processing works

Supabase provides account, database, and image storage. Google Document AI reads menu images. OpenAI receives menu text, your dietary preferences, restrictions, goal, and chosen language to translate dishes and provide personalized meal advice and nutrition estimates. Anthropic may read images when OCR fails or estimate ingredient quantities for nutrition refinement; earlier app versions also use it for menu and nutrition analysis. Optional body measurements are not sent with menu analysis. If you refine nutrition, ingredient names and estimated quantities are sent to Edamam. Restaurant discovery uses Google Places. Menu information may be reused to serve other people viewing the same restaurant. Your preference snapshot and personalized advice are available only through your account or guest device, and are cleared from scans when your account is deleted. Avoid including faces or personal information in menu photos.

Analytics and service providers

The app uses PostHog for usage and scan performance analytics and Sentry for error reporting when configured. Events may include account or device identifiers and actions such as completing a scan. The app does not use an advertising identifier. Apple and RevenueCat process in-app purchases when available; NomadBite stores purchase and credit records, not your payment card details. Vercel hosts this website and processes connection information needed to serve it.

Purpose and retention

We use this information to provide the features you request, maintain the service, and diagnose problems. We use your waitlist email for the launch updates you consent to receive. You can withdraw that consent by emailing us. We retain waitlist entries until you request removal or the waitlist closes. Account data is retained while your account exists; you can start account deletion from the You tab. Shared restaurant/menu information and operational records may remain after account deletion. Contact us for a request involving a specific scan or guest device.

Your choices

You can use guest scanning, omit optional profile details, decline location access, or stop before sending a menu for AI processing. Contact us to request a copy of your data or removal from the waitlist. You may also raise a concern with your data protection authority. Processing by our providers may involve countries outside your own; contact us for information about the arrangements applying to your data.
